An effigy of St Bridget will be paraded through town, where she will be honoured with dance & song during the annual parade on Saturday, February 8th 2020. The firelight procession will make its way up through Killorglin town centre and will be followed by the King of the Biddies concert. Biddy's Day there will be workshops on traditional Irish crafts and lectures from Killorglin History and Folklore Society. .
The Biddies can be traced back to pre christian times. In 2019 the Mid Kerry were one of 30 cultural practices granted protection by the Irish state
