Carrickmacross Arts Festival…. Ireland’s biggest small festival returns from the 23rd – 26th of August, 2018 in Carrickmacross, County Monaghan.
Renowned for its ability to intrigue and entertain people from the age of 8 to 80, Carrickmacross Arts Festival features the best of original Irish music, exhibitions of cutting edge visual art, side-splitting comedy from some of the finest Irish comedians, a series of engaging workshops, talks and seminars, quirky crafts, artisan food, open air cinema, poetry & prose recitals, a play area for kids with an array of childrens workshop’s, live drama, live art demonstrations, art installations, trad music sessions, a Pop Up Gaeltacht, buskers, street theatre and so much more.
This reasonably priced family friendly event spans four days and takes place in the grounds and gardens of Callan’s of the Bridge venue in the bustling market town Carrickmacross, which is situated in the rolling south Monaghan drumlins…. just 45 minutes from Dublin and 1 hour from Belfast.
Our programme of events showcases art in all its forms - music, literature, comedy, painting, sculpture, drama, film and so much more. Local artists will feature alongside some of the country’s most renowned creative minds at Ireland’s biggest small festival this summer.
This year is Carrickmacross Arts Festival’s fifth birthday and to mark this occasion some of the favourite acts from the past four years will be taking to the music stage, as well as some new faces.
