Spraoi International Street Arts Festival returns on August Bank Holiday Weekend, 2024.
Spraoi Festival is Ireland’s premiere street arts and performance event.
This will be the 34th Spraoi Festival and Waterford invites friends from far and near to visit for Ireland’s best birthday party in 2024.
The Spraoi International Street Arts Festival features street artists from around the globe, presenting a thrilling selection of world class street theatre.
Each year Spraoi welcomes performers and audiences from around the world. This year we have an exciting new dimension to Spraoi Festival 2024, as Circostrada host DIVE#3 in Waterford. Delegates and programmers from across Europe will be invited to Waterford for this year’s festival. Circostrada is Europe’s leading circus and street performance practitioners network.
Four superb performers use an exciting blend of dance, acrobatics and aerial work inside a large cage. Disorientated and shaken, they use their skill and instinct to survive in this emotionally charged and athletic piece.
Inspired by Rainer Maria Rilke’s poem The Panther, this powerfully emotional outdoor show explores captivity.
Captive is a thrilling blend of dance and acrobatics that inspires audiences of all ages with it’s physically spinetingling storytelling.
Ireland’s premiere summer street spectacle event The Spraoi Parade takes place at 9.30 p.m. on Sunday August 4th, 2024. Join thousands of spectators as spectacular floats, hundreds of costumed performers, live musicians, light, sound, and special effects weave through Waterford’s medieval streets at night. The parade is a magical imaginative feast of the senses that climaxes the annual festival. A spectacular finale of fireworks launched from the River Suir at the quays follows the parade.
The theme of this year’s parade will be announced in June. For now put this free spectacle in your phone. The Spraoi Parade is a must-see summer event in Ireland.
