The Heart of the Glens Festival is one of the largest community festivals in Northern Ireland and hosts a range of cultural events.

The 2024 festival runs from 3– 11 August and provides a fun packed programme of over 80 events throughout the 9 day period.

The Lurig Challenge Run, held on the 10th of August 2024 at 1PM, is the highlight of the Heart of the Glens Festival. Participants are guaranteed an exciting off-road race, breathtaking views and a famously warm Glens welcome. Be prepared for one of the country’s most unique and memorable races, as you run to the top of Lurig (1073 feet), with spectacular views, before a fast descent down the mountain.
