Aillwee Cave is Ireland’s Premier Showcave – A very special place in the heart of the Burren.
One of the most ancient caves in the Burren and perhaps in Ireland. The story of Aillwee Cave began millions of years ago when the landscape was very different to that which we see today.
They began to form when streams sinking underground on Aillwee Mountain started dissolving channels through the lines of weakness in the limestone. The earliest history of the cave is preserved in its roof.
There is also a Birds of Prey educational center, a gift shop and you can visit Santa at Christmas!
